El Cerro del Aripo

Located in Trinidad, at 3,084 feet above sea level, Mount Aripo is the tallest mountain in both islands of Trinidad and Tobago. It is found between the counties of St. George and St. Andrew, and is home to over 400 species of birds, therefore often called a birdwatching hotspot. Mount Aripo is also known as El Cerro del Aripo, and is part of the Aripo Massif, which is located in the Northern Range of Trinidad. The Northern range is home to many waterfalls and rivers and is located to the North of the Northern Plain, but there are also other ranges in Trinidad and Tobago.These include the Central Range, which runs through the middle of Trinidad, the Southern Range, also in Trinidad, which  is the smallest mountain range in Trinidad and Tobago, and dots the southernmost points of Trinidad, and lastly, Main Ridge, which is the only mountain range in Tobago and covers nearly all of the island. Mount Aripo is a significant landmark for the people of Trinidad and Tobago, who take pride in their tallest mountain.
