Sports in Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago has many clubs and national teams dedicated to multiple sports. They have hundreds of players across the country, and even 116 olympic athletes who participated in 183 games and altogether earned 19 Olympic medals as well as 3 gold medals. These medals consist of 15 in track and field (3 gold included), 1 in swimming, and the remaining 3 in weightlifting, according to Olympedia.

Although the country participates in numerous sports, they are dedicated majorly to two sports. Arguably Trinidad and Tobago’s most popular sport, soccer, also known as football, is a big part of their sports leagues. They have a union with the name Trinidad and Tobago Football Association, also known as TTFA, which is in charge of every soccer team, both national and clubs, in the country, including Men’s National, Women’s National, Youth Teams, Men’s Beach Soccer, and even an E-Sports Team (TTFA)! They are also in control of both the Men's Premier Football League and the Women’s League Football (TTFA).

However, besides soccer, the country has one other major sport, and that is cricket. Trinidad and Tobago has a national team, named the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, and the team belongs to the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board, the nation’s governing body for cricket (also both clubs as well as national).
